With the spread of EV = electric vehicles, the introduction of charging infrastructure in condominiums is slow.

To address these issues, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to provide a subsidy of up to 4 million yen when introducing high-voltage power receiving equipment that is indispensable for chargers in condominiums.

The government has set a goal of turning all new passenger cars into electric vehicles such as EVs by 2035, and is proceeding with the development of the necessary charging infrastructure.

However, in condominiums, the agreement of the management union is required to introduce the equipment, and in many cases the union will contribute the cost, which makes it difficult to reach an agreement.

It is necessary to install high-voltage power receiving equipment in the charger for EVs in condominiums, but the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to provide a subsidy of up to 4 million yen.

Specifically, the policy is to subsidize up to 2 million yen for equipment with an output of 50 kW or more and less than 90 kW, and up to 4 million yen for equipment with an output of 150 kW or more.

In addition, we will also subsidize the cost of installing the charger.

In Japan, more than 40% of people live in condominiums and other condominiums.

The government intends to improve the environment in which it is easy to install equipment in condominiums by enhancing subsidies and promote the spread of EVs.
