His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, chaired the sixth meeting of the General Budget Committee of the Union, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Minister of Cabinet Affairs. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, and Governor of the Central Bank of the Emirates, Khalid Mohammed Salem Al Tamimi, along with representatives from the Ministry of Finance.
The agenda of the committee’s meeting included a discussion of developments in the implementation of the general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2022, within the budget cycle “2022-2026”, in light of the developments and measures undertaken by the Ministry of Finance, in order to update the draft general budget of the Federation, in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law Decree on Finance. General, the relevant decisions and recommendations, while the committee was briefed on the requirements of some federal government programs, and directed what is necessary in their regard.
The meeting also discussed a number of topics, the most important of which are: the results of the federal government’s cash flows for the fiscal year 2021, which are available for the first months of the current fiscal year 2022, and estimates for the coming months, in which the collection indicators showed an improvement over the previous fiscal year, while the committee directed the Ministry of Finance to complete The necessary procedures for preparing the Federation’s general budget draft for the year 2023, in accordance with the approved strategic programs and objectives, and in a manner that achieves the UAE’s vision for the next fifty years.
