In response, Fu Linghui, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics of China and director of the National Economic Comprehensive Statistics Department, responded at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that day, saying that this was due to seasonal factors.

The surveyed unemployment rates of the 16-24 and 25-59 age groups were 15.3% and 4.8% respectively.

The surveyed unemployment rate in 31 large cities and towns was 5.4%.

The national average weekly working hours of enterprise employees is 46.7 hours.

  Fu Linghui said that judging from the unemployment rate of the 25-59-year-old main employment group, the unemployment rate of the 25-59-year-old main employment group was 4.8% in February, 0.2 percentage points lower than the same period of the previous year, indicating that the employment situation is not stable. Judging from the situation of young people, the surveyed unemployment rate of urban youth aged 16-24 in February was 15.3%, the same as the previous month.

Among them, the unemployment rate of college graduates aged 20-24 and above decreased by 0.7 percentage points month-on-month, indicating that the employment situation of college graduates has also improved.

  But he also pointed out that it is indeed necessary to see that compared with history, the unemployment rate of college students is still at a relatively high level in general.
