In order to respond to the company's success, Hermès continues to develop its production capacities.
This Tuesday morning, it announces the construction of two new workshops by 2026 in the Southwest with the eventual creation of 500 jobs.
They will see the light of day in L'Isle-d'Espagnac in Charente in 2025 and in Loupes in Gironde, a year later.
"These two new projects are in addition to the three other sites under development in Louviers (Eure), Tournes and Cliron (Ardennes) and Riom (Puy-de-Dôme) where recruitment and training are continuing", specifies the French company in a press release.
The first workshop will join the leather goods center of the South-West, which includes the leather goods factories of Nontron, Montbron and the glove and leather goods factory of Saint-Junien, which have been present in the region for more than twenty-five years.
For its part, the new Manufacture de Loupes will constitute, along with the Guyenne leather goods factory, inaugurated in 2020, the Girondin division of Hermès, which will become the group's 8th leather goods division.
Since 2010, Hermès has opened nine leather goods shops in France, bringing the number of saddler-leather craftsmen within the group to more than 4,300.
The manufactures of L'Isle-d'Espagnac and Loupes will constitute the 23rd and 24th leather goods workshops of the house, all located in France.
As a reminder, Hermès has 300 stores in 45 countries.
The group employs nearly 17,600 people worldwide, including nearly 11,000 in France, including nearly 6,000 artisans as of December 31, 2021.
