Sharp, a major electronics manufacturer, has decided to enter the cosmetics business such as lotion and moisturizing cream.

We are also entering the mask business triggered by the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and we are accelerating our entry into new fields as the business environment changes drastically due to the coronavirus.

According to the announcement, Sharp will enter the cosmetics business from this month and will start selling moisturizing creams for the face, as well as lotions and emulsions.

In response to the spread of the new corona infection, the company started producing masks by diverting the clean room used in the production of liquid crystal displays, and has shipped more than 300 million masks so far.

Many people said that they had problems with their skin while spending more time wearing masks, so they decided to enter the cosmetics business.

Since the product contains ingredients that keep the skin moisturized, it will be sold on its website for the time being.

Sada Oyama, president of Sharp Kokoro Life, said, "We have made it a product that can be used by a wide range of people by focusing on skin problems in the life of wearing a mask. We would like to continue to consider product development in the future."

In the future, we would like to consider developing cosmetics that are linked to our own beauty appliances such as hair dryers, and we are accelerating our entry into new fields amid the drastic changes in the business environment caused by the Corona disaster.
