Emmanuel Macron, candidate for his succession, proposes a gradual extension of the retirement age to 65, "a minimum pension of 1,100 euros" for full careers and the "abolition of the main special schemes", announced government spokesman Gabriel Attal on Thursday.

"In Emmanuel Macron's program there will be the proposal to extend the retirement age and gradually raise it to 65," said Gabriel Attal on RTL, confirming information from Les

.

It will therefore be “a reform of responsibility”, he defended.

A minimum pension of 1,100 euros

The postponement of the legal age of departure will be "over ten years, that is to say four more months per year", to reach 65 years "in 2032", specified on France Info Richard Ferrand, the president of the National Assembly who was to present the reform project Thursday to the CFDT on behalf of Emmanuel Macron.

It will also be a "justice" reform, with a minimum pension of 1,100 euros "for those who have a full career", and the abolition of special schemes, "for example of the RATP or EDF, as we have made for the SNCF for the new entrants”, added Gabriel Attal, promising “a discussion with the unions”.

One month to the day before the first round of the presidential election, the government spokesman spoke of "a choice for society", with the need to "finance protection for the French and invest for (them)", without raise taxes, and therefore by "working more".

And while the universal points system of a previous reform advocated by Emmanuel Macron during the past five-year term could not see the light of day, Richard Ferrand considered that we must "not abandon the idea".

"Simply it will only have to be done for new entrants to the labor market", he explained, because "it would remain the fairest system".
