"It doesn't take much to be happy" is your favorite adage?

Minimalist while remaining warm, the Lagom style is made for you.

Like Danish hygge, this Swedish art of living advocates greater simplicity, both in everyday life and in its interior.

Quality furniture, authentic rooms, uncluttered space, conviviality and an ode to nature… We give you our precepts for creating a peaceful living environment by shedding the superfluous.

We do the sorting

In order to put order in your house, a first step is essential: that of sorting.

While several methods exist to help you live better with less, one of the most popular is the art of tidying up, developed by Japanese organization consultant Marie Kondo.

So we start with clothes, then books, administrative papers, miscellaneous objects and finally those of sentimental value, and we only keep what is useful to us on a daily basis or brings us joy.

Finally, we store thanks to clever and well thought-out systems so as to easily find our way around.

In order to avoid accumulation, we also try to promote multifunctional utensils and objects.

By decluttering your interior to keep only the essentials, you visually enlarge the space at the same time, you gain in brightness and clarity of mind but also, you facilitate the chore of maintenance.

Quality First

To adopt the lagom spirit, we say stop to excessive consumerism and buying frenzy.

We leave aside useless state-of-the-art gadgets and cheap pieces of furniture whose lifespan is limited, in an eco-responsible approach aimed at reducing waste.

As much as possible, we opt for furniture and accessories made by hand, in noble, healthy and authentic materials (raw wood, stone, terracotta, ceramics), favoring quality over quantity.

We also avoid "fashionable" decorations, which, by definition, will eventually go out of fashion, and we set our sights on sure values, which will not look outdated in a few years.

Be careful however, the moderation acclaimed by the Lagom is not deprivation.

From the moment a piece of furniture or an accessory really pleases us and serves us, there is no reason to restrict ourselves.

If we have a real crush on a beautiful rug or an armchair that really caught our eye, we don't hesitate to buy it.

Especially since, in a refined space, they will be more highlighted.

Conviviality at the heart of the house

One of the essential concepts of the lagom style is the notion of

"mysig"

, which designates the welcoming and rejuvenating aspect of a place.

Indeed, in the Nordic countries, living together is essential.

We therefore create warm spaces that make you want to settle down, and you take the time to share and discuss with loved ones, in line with the principle of

“slow life”

.

Thus, we banish the sofa facing the television and we instead have the seats around a coffee table in order to organize snack or coffee breaks as soon as possible.

Place in the natural

Facing the outdoors and open spaces, the Lagom also offers a special place to nature.

If you are not lucky enough to have a garden or a terrace, introduce touches of beneficial greenery into your home by adopting a few green plants – if possible that require little water, in order to make your life easier.

You can also opt for an indoor or balcony vegetable garden, to grow your own vegetables and herbs.

To create a soothing atmosphere where life is good, we also favor soft textiles made of natural fibers (linen, wool, cotton) which invite you to relax, as well as wooden, rattan or bamboo furniture.
