Ahmed bin Saeed tops Forbes' list of the most powerful leaders in tourism and travel in the region

The list highlights 50 leaders in travel and tourism in the region.


His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Supreme Chairman of the Emirates Airlines Group, topped the Forbes Middle East first list, on the “most powerful leaders of tourism and travel in the Middle East.”

The list highlights 50 of the region's travel and tourism leaders who are driving the sector towards growth and creating opportunities for individuals by reconnecting with the world.

The group's revenues amounted to $6.7 billion (24.5 billion dirhams) in the first half of the fiscal year (2021-2022), and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, ranked third.

The members of the list represent nine countries in the region, led by the UAE, where 24 business leaders reside, followed by Saudi Arabia with 11 leaders, then Egypt with four leaders, while the hotel and hospitality sector dominates the list with 26 leaders, followed by the aviation sector with 17 leaders, then the hospitality sector Tourism with seven leaders.
