On March 5, the government work report submitted to the Fifth Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress for deliberation put forward the main expected development goals in 2022, of which the gross domestic product (GDP) will increase by about 5.5%.

In this regard, Wang Yiming, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the China International Economic Exchange Center, said in an interview that the expected economic growth target for 2022 is set at about 5.5%, which is in line with China's potential growth level at this stage.

The medium-to-high-speed growth on a high base not only shows confidence in achieving the GDP growth target in 2022, but also helps China better grasp the initiative in the adjustment of the global economic structure.
