  According to the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Guangdong Volunteer Federation has released the 2021 Guangdong (“i Volunteer” system) volunteer service development index.

  At present, there are more than 14.07 million registered volunteers in Guangdong Province, and there are more than 132,000 volunteer service organizations and groups, with a cumulative service time of more than 700 million hours.

From the perspective of volunteer gender, male volunteers account for 48%, and female volunteers account for 52%; from the age of volunteers, youth is the main force of volunteer service, and the number of volunteers between the ages of 14 and 40 accounts for 74.92%; From the perspective of volunteer politics, party members and league members accounted for 43.76% of the volunteers.

  Wu Zuqing, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Civilization Office, said that the majority of volunteers are active in the province's 25,700 civilization practice centers (institutions, stations), bringing together a strong synergy to promote the development of volunteer service in Guangdong.

Zheng Hongxiang, the most beautiful volunteer who learned from Lei Feng in Guangdong Province in 2021, said that he graduated with an undergraduate degree in 2018. Zheng Hongxiang participated in the Volunteer Service Western Program for Guangdong University Students and served as the leader of the 21st postgraduate teaching team of Sun Yat-sen University. He went to Nyingchi, Tibet to teach for a year, and many of the children he taught were admitted to prestigious schools such as Sun Yat-sen University.

  According to the relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, since 2003, Guangdong has dispatched more than 10,000 volunteers from the western (mountainous) program like Zheng Hongxiang.

They shed their youth and sweat in Tibet, Xinjiang and other places, as well as the fields in the mountainous areas of eastern and western Guangdong and northern Guangdong.

  It is reported that since 2014, Guangdong has been relying on volunteer service records to carry out the management of star-level volunteer qualifications in Guangdong Province.

Volunteers who have participated in voluntary service for a total of 1,500 hours after registration will be recognized as "five-star volunteers" through relevant certification procedures.

So far, according to statistics, there are more than 71,000 volunteers in Guangdong who have volunteered for more than 1,500 hours.
