McDonald's Japan, a major hamburger chain, announced that it will raise the price of some products such as hamburgers from the middle of this month in response to the soaring prices of raw materials such as wheat.

According to the announcement, McDonald's Japan will raise the price of about 20% of all the products sold in stores from the 14th of this month.

The main items are

▽ hamburgers will be raised from 110 yen to 130 yen

▽ cheeseburgers will be raised from 140 yen to 160 yen.

For home delivery, most products will be raised by 10 to 30 yen.

Regarding the reason, the company said that it was because the prices of raw materials such as wheat and beef were soaring, and the logistics and labor costs were rising, and the price increase of the product was raised to 10% in 2019. It's been about two and a half years since October.

In the restaurant industry, major beef bowl chains have been raising the prices of some of their menus one after another since the latter half of last year, and as raw material prices continue to rise, it is expected that the price increase will spread further in the future.
