Russian shares are hardly tradable anymore.

The expulsion of these stocks from the major indices such as the MSCI is therefore only logical.

If prices are no longer transparent, then they lose their right to exist in the indices for that reason alone.

That's the technical side.

In view of the war and the great human suffering for which Russian President Putin is unscrupulously responsible in Ukraine, the expulsion inevitably has a moral, an ethical side.

Investing in Russian stocks currently seems as impossible as producing cars or Billy shelves as a large corporation in Russia.

Who would want to shore up the system.

Despite all the dismay about the current situation, every investor should also use the events to rethink their own investment strategy.

In the best case, Russian stocks only make up a small part of the portfolio anyway, because the stock market principle of diversification is strictly followed.

It is also necessary to think about the extent to which companies and their business practices correspond to their own values.

Some will find that the investment universe could become much smaller if the criteria of E (environment, i.e. ecological), S (social) and G (governance, good corporate management) are really taken seriously.

No sanctions are required for this, as every investor is responsible for this.
