Toyota Motor Corporation has revealed that it has lost the paper application form containing personal information for about 140,000 people stored at the store.

It means that it has not been confirmed to be leaked to the outside because it was accidentally destroyed.

According to Toyota Motor Corporation, what was lost was a paper application form containing personal information for about 140,000 people when using the connected service that connects the car and the outside by communication and can receive various services. ..

The application form for "T-Connect" for Toyota cars and "G-Link" for Lexus included personal information such as name, address, phone number, and vehicle type.

From 2014, when the service started, to December last year, it was filled out at more than 3,500 dealers nationwide.

The company says that the leakage of personal information to the outside has not been confirmed so far because the application form was accidentally destroyed.

After completing the entry, it was a rule to send it from the dealer to a Toyota subsidiary and store it, but since there were cases where it was not sent, it was found that it was lost when investigated.

In the future, the company plans to promote the digitization of application forms and work to prevent recurrence.
