A report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector at the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai showed that the total number of active and operating companies in the “Al Khawaneej” area reached 592, topped by the category of the license: “commercial” by 54%, followed by “professional” by 46%.
The report clarified the volume of commercial activity in the Al Khawaneej area, to give the business community an overview of the business reality and the opportunities available in that city.

In terms of the legal form of the issued and effective licenses in Al Khawaneej, the individual establishments accounted for 60%, while the limited liability establishments accounted for 27%, and the limited liability companies - one person 6%.
The rest of the list of legal forms included: civil businesses, branches of companies based in another emirate, branches of companies/institutions based in a free zone, partnership companies, and limited partnership companies.
Nationalities of the investors
Citizens ranked first among the list of investors with issued and effective licenses in the Al Khawaneej region, while the most prominent nationalities investing in the region were also: British, American, Saudi, Jordanian, Egyptian, Indian, and Pakistani.
