Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank announced that 46 citizens have joined its training programs: "Tamkeen" and "Leaders", for the current year, including 21 employees of the "Leaders Program", and 25 employees of "Tamkeen", in cooperation with "Harvard University", in a move The bank said that it comes within the framework of its continuous commitment to sponsoring distinguished national cadres in the UAE banking sector.

Bushra Al Shehhi, Director of Human Resources Department at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, said: “When we launched the (Leaders) and (Tamkeen) programs, we had a clear goal of pushing the growth and development of Emirati talents, to enhance the bank’s human capital capabilities, and to contribute more comprehensively to achieving Our leadership’s vision is to advance Emiratisation efforts in the banking sector, and to take care of our national cadres, especially the distinguished among them.”

She added: “At ADIB, we are proud of having achieved one of the highest Emiratisation rates in the banking sector, which amounts to 40% of the total number of employees, which confirms our commitment to absorb more national cadres into our workforce.

Leaders and Empowerment

The "Leaders" and "Tamkeen" programs are training programs specifically designed to empower the distinguished national employees of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

The training curricula for both programs are designed with the aim of providing knowledge, skills and competencies that help participants develop their careers and prepare them to assume leadership positions in the future. These programs also contribute to supporting the UAE's efforts to encourage more citizens to enter the national financial services sector.


According to the bank, the training courses for the “Leaders” and “Tamkeen” programs were developed this year, in partnership with Harvard Business Publishing, affiliated with Harvard University.

"Leaders" is a training program for employees within the category of supervisory management levels, and is designed for distinguished Emirati employees who have completed at least one year from the date of their appointment with the bank.

As for Tamkeen, it is a training program for distinguished citizens who have completed at least two years in the bank.


Training period

The duration of training in both programs is up to six months, focusing on specific areas such as “developing the leadership mindset”, “employee development”, “empowering and activating the role of employees”, “innovation and change management” and “performance enhancement”.

So far, a total of 152 graduates have graduated under the "Leadership" and "Tamkeen" programs, in addition to the promotion of 49 employees to the next level, in order to achieve their career aspirations.
