A Vendée company has launched a 100% made in France dishwasher: "Bob".

Imagined by several engineer friends, they have indeed decided to bet on the French workforce, rather than produce their device in China.

And the recipe works, their dishwasher is exported all over the world and they are already thinking of developing a new type of household appliance.

How to rebuild a successful industry in France?

In Vendée a company has found the solution with an innovative dishwasher 100% made in France: "Bob".

A bet story between engineering friends, which is now exported all over the world.

The creators indeed hope to double production this year and bring out 70,000 of them from their factory based in Cugand.

Europe 1 met them.

"I am from the made in China generation. Everything I bought was made in China", explains Damien.

This engineer therefore chose the total opposite to manufacture a dishwasher entirely in recycled plastic, made in France.

"It's pretty basic. Between 20 and 30 people work full time on the assembly part," he explains.

32 minutes of labor

“I am putting two pumps, which I connect here”, shows an employee.

"Afterwards, I have just started this week. Before I was a bus driver, it's a total change," she jokes.

The workforce is indeed running to assemble these parts, all made within one hour of this small town in Vendée: 200 are ordered per day on the internet, mainly for Europe, the United States and even Taiwan.

"In China, we will earn on the labor part since the hourly rate is lower, but there are only 32 minutes of labor. And in China we would not even earn 10 euros. So if we add the cost of transport, the logistical problems and the costs of customs clearance, it is much more interesting to do it in France. In any case, from our point of view", continues Damien.

Convinced that reindustrialization still has good times ahead of it, the engineer is already developing his new household appliance combining toaster and microwave, made in Vendée.
