Crude oil prices are on the rise due to the situation in Ukraine, and regular gasoline and kerosene prices are at their highest levels for the first time in about 13 years.



The government has been taking measures to subsidize oil sales companies since late January in order to curb price increases, but it has already reached the upper limit of 5 yen per liter.

The Liberal Democratic Party is seeking support in excess of 25 yen per liter, as indicated by the so-called "trigger clause", which is an urgent proposal to stop the taxation of the additional portion of the gasoline tax.



Based on the Liberal Democratic Party's urgent proposal, the government is adjusting how much the subsidy can be raised from 5 yen in the direction of paying from the reserve fund of this year's budget.



In addition, we are planning to put together a support package for a wide range of fields, such as measures to allow small and medium-sized enterprises to appropriately pass on the rise in crude oil prices and measures by industry such as agriculture and fishing.
