As the price of major foods rises in the new year, the price of soju, the 'national liquor', also rises.

Hite Jinro announced today (18th) that it will raise the factory price of soju products by 7.9% from the 23rd.

Specifically, the factory price of 'Chamisul Fresh' and 'Chamisul Original' 360ml bottles and some PET bottles will rise by 7.9%.

The factory price of 'Jinro' products will also increase by 7.9%.

However, the premium line 'Ilpoom Jinro' was excluded from the hike.

It is the first time in about three years that Hite Jinro has raised the shipping price of soju products.

An official from Hite Jinro explained, "In accordance with the recent rise in raw and subsidiary material prices, logistics costs, and engineering fee handling fees, we decided to increase the rate of increase in the line of minimizing the burden on consumers after a multifaceted review."

Since the end of last year, the food service industry, such as hamburgers and chicken, has raised product prices one after another due to the rise in raw material prices and logistics costs, and the liquor industry is also joining the ranks of the hike.

Lotte Chilsung Beverage, which manufactures 'Like the First Time', also said, "It is true that there are factors to increase the price of soju."

OB Beer, which sells Cass, said, "There is pressure to raise raw material costs such as barley and aluminum prices in recent years.

He said, leaving open the possibility of raising.
