After an intense ice and snow event, there's nothing better than taking a hot shower and getting a good night's sleep.

In the Zhangjiakou competition area of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the bath towels, bed sheets, quilt covers and other textiles in the residences of athletes and staff will be replaced every day. How are they cleaned and ensure the safety of prevention and control under the global epidemic?

The answer can be found in Zhangjiakou Huanxin Textile Washing Industrial Park, located in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province.

10 to 15 tons of linen are washed every day

In the early morning of February 16, vehicles loaded with textiles to be cleaned brought back from Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village entered the park, and then staff wearing protective clothing began to kill the enclosed vans.

The reporter learned that this textile washing industrial park, which opened in June 2021, has introduced a number of world-leading hotel linens (generally referring to things related to "cloth" in modern hotels), medical supplies washing dragons, and built supporting EU A sewage treatment plant with standard control brine balance sewage treatment system.

At present, the park is the only enterprise that provides laundry services for the Winter Olympic Village in Zhangjiakou competition area and 23 contracted hotel textiles.

It is understood that the Huanxin Textile Washing Industrial Park mainly cleans six categories of room supplies, including the Winter Olympic Village and the Chongli Olympic-related Hotel, including bed sheets, quilts, pillowcases, face towels, bath towels, and floor towels.

Since the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics on February 4, 10 to 15 tons of textiles have been washed every day.

Multi-channel high temperature treatment and microbial detection

The person in charge of the industrial park told reporters that the industrial park implements closed-loop management, and the Olympic washing line and the logistics distribution line are strictly operated in accordance with the epidemic prevention process.

The interior of the washing workshop is divided into two completely isolated areas, the clean area and the dirty area. Negative pressure ventilation equipment is installed in the dirty area. Textiles are disinfected and sorted in the dirty area. After pre-washing, main washing, disinfection, rinsing, neutralization, etc. Enter the clean zone after the washing program.

After washing, drying, ironing, and packing, the clean area workshop will be transported to Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village and Olympic-related hotels by the Winter Olympics security logistics line using linen closed cages and closed vans.

A fully automatic sling bag system for textile delivery throughout the washing process reduces worker and textile contact.

During the washing process, it can reach 85 ℃ high temperature sterilization and washing, basically the main microorganisms and pathogenic bacteria can be killed. After washing, it needs to be dehydrated by a press, and then dried at 110 ℃ and ironed at 180 ℃.

Not only that, the park also conducts microbiological testing on textiles every day to ensure that textiles are safely cleaned.

The reporter learned that the washing guarantee service of the industrial park will continue until the end of the Beijing Winter Paralympics.
