Recently, a peasant ski team participating in the service guarantee of the Beijing Winter Olympics has attracted attention.

In this ski team formed by farmers in Zhangshanying Town, Yanqing District, Beijing, more than half of the team members have obtained national vocational qualification certificates, and many are professional ski coaches.

In this Beijing Winter Olympics, they participated in a number of tasks such as ski safety protection and test competition refereeing, allowing the world to see the diversity of China's rural ice and snow economic development, which is worthy of praise.

In the past, when we talked about the effect of the Winter Olympics in rural areas, we often thought of the unique snow and ice resources in northern rural areas, and the form of farmers' participation was mainly rural tourism.

The peasant ski team broke through this mindset and explored a way to professionally develop ice and snow sports, which not only broadened the employment and income channels for farmers, but also promoted the upgrading of the local ice and snow industry, and also boosted the development of popular ice and snow sports. This kind of development idea is worth learning from.

Only by opening up ideas, practicing skills, and developing in multiple ways can we truly write the "Frozen" at the door of farmers' homes.

All localities should make industrial planning and support according to local conditions, provide farmers with precise training, guide more farmers to innovate business ideas, master professional skills, and promote the innovative, diversified and in-depth development of the rural ice and snow economy.
