ANA Holdings Inc., a major aviation company, announced the appointment of managing director Koji Shibata to be promoted to the new president on April 1st.

ANA Holdings held an extraordinary board of directors meeting on April 10, and on April 1, President Shinya Katanozaka was appointed chairman with representative rights, and Mr. Shibata, managing director, was promoted to the new president to succeed.



It is the first time in seven years that the president has changed.



Mr. Shibata is 64 years old from Kagoshima prefecture.



He has been working on formulating management strategies and developing new businesses other than aviation in the midst of the spread of the new corona infection.



At a press conference, Mr. Shibata said, "I want to recover from the influence of the new corona as soon as possible, promote business growth and aim to transform into a strong ANA," and expressed motivation to achieve profitability next year. ..



Mr. Katanosaka, who served as president for seven years, said, "The last two years were a battle with the new Corona. I want to pass on the strategy of becoming a small company and surviving to the new president."



All Nippon Airways, which is under its umbrella, also announced the appointment of President Yuji Hirako to be replaced on April 1, and Shinichi Inoue, managing director, will be promoted to the succeeding president.
