Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the UAE outside the oil and gas sector, today announced its plans to build an aluminum recycling facility, with a production capacity of 150,000 tons per year, stressing that the facility is the first recycling plant to be shown by the company, and is scheduled to be the largest in the world. Country.


The company said in a statement that it intends to market recycled aluminum, under the promotional name EternAL, at a time when the facility will recycle spent aluminum scrap such as used window frames and unused aluminum scrap, so that the recycled aluminum is converted into High quality, low carbon cylinders.


The company explained that it will obtain the aluminum scrap needed to operate the plant, mainly from the UAE and the surrounding region, pointing out that more than half of the aluminum scrap produced in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is currently disposed of, or exported.

Emirates Global Aluminium confirmed that it is currently studying the feasibility of the project, and is likely to start production at the plant in 2024.


Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, said that establishing the company's first recycling plant to produce Eternal aluminum is one of the steps we plan to take to provide low-carbon aluminum to global customers.

He added: “This plant will also enhance the position of (Emirates Global Aluminium) as a world leader in the production of aluminum cylinders, as it will increase our production capacity from about 1.15 million tons annually to about 1.3 million tons, amid a constantly increasing demand from dealers for this product with The added value, and it will also enable the company to make an additional contribution to the promotion of the (300 billion project), the national added value program, and the provision of opportunities in the field of construction, by replacing some imported raw materials with recyclable resources existing in the country.
