The government's subsidy to oil retailers to curb the rise in prices of gasoline and other products will be raised to 5 yen per liter, which is the upper limit from the 10th next week.

On the 27th of last month, the government implemented an unusual measure to subsidize oil wholesalers in order to curb the rise in prices of gasoline and other products.

The amount of the subsidy was decided by the increase in the wholesale price when the original selling company wholesales to the gas station, and it was 3.4 yen for the last week and 3.7 yen for this week per liter.

However, due to the tense situation in Ukraine, the international crude oil futures price rose to the $ 90 level per barrel for the first time in about 7 years and 4 months in the New York market on the 3rd, and the crude oil price soared. it is continuing.

As a result, the procurement cost of the oil wholesale company will increase, and the amount of subsidy will be raised to the upper limit of 5 yen.

In addition to gasoline, kerosene, light oil, and heavy oil are also covered, and the original sales company will sell them to gas stations nationwide at a price reduced by 5 yen from the 10th next week.
