Bitcoin rises above $40,000 for the first time since October

Cryptocurrency Bitcoin is back above $40,000 as investors show signs of renewed risk appetite after a volatile week across financial markets.

The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization jumped 9.4% to reach $40,426, the highest increase since October 15, while the coin has not exceeded $40,000 more than two weeks ago.

The ether currency rose by as much as 11%, and most currencies rose strongly and many of them by about 10%, as major cryptocurrencies began to rise suddenly after strong profits from Amazon boosted confidence in technology stocks, which digital tokens largely followed over the past months .

The big cryptocurrencies have been largely stuck in a range for the past two weeks, after being hit by widespread declines in January
