Pegasus: Finnish diplomats' mobile phones hacked by spyware

Mobile phones belonging to Finnish diplomats have reportedly been targeted by Pegasus, the spyware developed by the Israeli company NSO.

Last week, an Israeli daily revealed that the Pegasus spyware had been used by the Israeli police against social and political activists.

Finland is now the victim of this software.

Pegasus could even have been used by Israel for more strategic purposes.

This is the latest twist in a case that never ends.

This time, mobile phones belonging to Finnish diplomats were allegedly targeted by Pegasus, the spyware developed by

the Israeli company NSO

.

The affair was revealed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Helsinki, which did not communicate on the number of hacked diplomats nor on the duration of the spying on their phones.

Pegasus, central instrument of Israeli diplomacy?

In Israel, the NSO group claimed that it did not know the facts and was content to assure that it was ready to help in any investigation into the use of its products.

The company claims to only sell the software to legitimate organizations in the fight against crime and terrorism.
