The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies announced the training of 32,773 trainees and professionals working in the banking and financial sector during 2021, more than 36% of whom were Emiratis.

During the past year, the Institute provided 1,081 training programs within the annual training plan for the banking sector, the annual training plan for the insurance sector, financial education conferences, learning paths and special programs, specialized professional certificates, in addition to national development programs.


Jamal Al Jasmi, Director General of the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, said: “We are pleased that this number of trainees have completed their professional training, as we work on designing our training programs annually according to the current needs of the regional and global markets, at a time when this approach has achieved great successes for us, and supported our constant endeavor. To support the professional development of workers in the banking and finance sector.


He explained that during the period from January to December 2021, the institute offered 316 specialized programs, in which 257,021 professionals from the banking and financial sector participated, covering multiple topics, including banking operations, credit management, project finance, financial technology, analytics, electronic banking, management and leadership. Human resources, Islamic banking, sales and marketing, customer service, quality management, and risk handling, as well as compliance, treasury, and investment banking.

Al Jasmi pointed out that the Institute cooperated with the Insurance Authority to prepare the training plan for 2021, which included the provision of more than 117 training programs, in which 3,301 trainees have participated so far. Private training and 122 educational paths across different digital platforms, combined, attracted 4,072.


Al Jasmi confirmed that the institute organized, during 2021, a training plan for various jobs in the banking sector, which included 61 programs, in which 1,540 trainees participated, with the aim of providing Emirati professionals with skills, refining them in various banking fields, and helping the sector reach its annual goals in the fields of employment and training. Another step within the institute's commitment to support Emiratisation efforts in the UAE.

He pointed out that 11,676 Emiratis joined the institute during the past year, and completed their training successfully, representing 36% of the total participants, pointing out that 7,241 Emiratis joined the annual training plan for the banking sector, while 643 Emiratis participated in the annual training plan for the insurance sector, and 980 Emiratis in courses and special education pathways.

He stated that with the aim of attracting Emirati talent, the institute, in cooperation with Tanfeedh, a subsidiary of Emirates NBD, organized an open day for Emirati job seekers in the banking and financial sector. potential future opportunities.
