China News Service, Taiyuan, January 22 (Reporter Li Xinsuo) After experiencing the energy shortage in 2021, how can leading coal enterprises strengthen their energy security capabilities?

On the 22nd, during the Shanxi Two Sessions, Guo Jingang, a representative of the Shanxi Provincial People's Congress and chairman of Jinneng Holding Group, said that in order to fully protect the national energy security and deploy advanced production capacity, it is recommended that Shanxi should support coal resource allocation and coal mine succession projects.

In September 2020, the newly formed Jinergy Holding Group became the second largest coal company in China and the third largest in the world with a coal production capacity of nearly 400 million tons.

This move has greatly enhanced the market voice and competitiveness of Shanxi's coal industry.

Last year, Shanxi signed four-quarter long-term coal supply guarantee contracts with 14 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Hebei, Shandong and Jiangsu.

Jinergy Holding Group has completed the coal supply guarantee task in 7 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities by itself.

At present, Jinergy Holding Group has a total of 228 mines with a coal output of nearly 400 million tons.

However, under the background that some mine resources are depleted and the proportion of advanced production capacity is increased, it is imperative to actively deploy advanced continuous production capacity.

"During the '13th Five-Year Plan' period, Jinneng Holding Group closed and exited 57 coal mines, reducing production capacity by 71.51 million tons/year; during the '14th Five-Year Plan' and '15th Five-Year Plan' period, there are still 48 resource-exhausted coal mines to be withdrawn, which is expected to decrease. The production capacity is 52.9 million tons per year.” Guo Jingang said that in the future, some coal mines with high cost and poor efficiency will be reorganized or closed, which will reduce the production capacity by 48.1 million tons per year.

In this regard, Guo Jingang suggested that Shanxi should agree to the construction of multiple coal mine succession projects as soon as possible, and at the same time coordinate the Shanxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources to speed up the transfer of replacement coal resources to Jinneng Holding Group to further ensure the sustainable development of the coal industry.

In fact, the above-mentioned enterprise layout and acquisition of new resources have long been followed.

Not long ago, Jinergy Holding Group stated in its New Year's message that in 2021, the company will make major breakthroughs in acquiring cracked resources, acquiring new resources, and continuing to build new mines.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the "coal giant" set a goal of producing 500 million tons of coal.
