The “fifth generation” suspends “Emirates Airlines” flights to 9 American destinations

Emirates Airlines reported that due to operational concerns related to plans to deploy fifth-generation mobile network services, it will suspend its flights to some destinations in the United States as of January 19, 2022.


The carrier added on its website that the destinations covered by the suspension include Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Miami, Newark, Orlando, San Francisco, and Seattle.


Emirates Airlines stated that customers who hold tickets to these destinations from any point will not be accepted.

At the same time, the carrier announced that its flights will continue to New York, John F. Kennedy, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, according to the usual schedule;

Pointing out that customers affected by suspended flights do not need to call immediately to rebook, as they can keep their tickets to use when flights resume.


Emirates Airlines expressed its regret for any inconvenience to customers, noting that it is working closely with aircraft manufacturers and relevant authorities to alleviate operational concerns, and hopes to resume its services to these destinations as soon as possible.
