António Horta-Osório
has resigned as chairman of
Credit Suisse Group
after a board investigation found he had
broken Covid-19 quarantine rules
on more than one occasion and has been replaced by
Axel P. Lehmann
with immediate effect .

"I am sorry that several of my personal actions have caused difficulties for the bank and have compromised my ability to represent the bank internally and externally. Therefore, I believe that
my resignation is in the interest of the bank
and its shareholders at this crucial moment," he said.
Horta-Osório
affirmed
in a statement from the Swiss bank.
"I have worked hard to make
Credit Suisse
successful again and I am proud of what we have achieved together in my short time at the bank.
