If the new models of radiators are often elegant, even act as design objects, the older generations of these devices are in most cases unattractive.
If they cannot be replaced for technical or economic reasons, it is possible to conceal them.
Here are some solutions.
Give them a lick of paint
In order to visually attenuate their presence without complicating your life, you can simply repaint your radiators tone on tone with their support wall.
In order to create a harmonious effect, it is advisable to paint both the radiator and the wall, so that the shade is exactly the same.
Be careful, some paints do not withstand high temperatures, it is better to opt for a special renovation paint for radiators.
Integrate them into the furniture
Another simple and effective way to hide your radiators is to incorporate them into an existing piece of furniture or arrange them to become part of a new feature piece of furniture.
An option all the more interesting as it saves space by upgrading the lost location.
For example, you can place a console, a desk or a TV bench above your radiator.
Depending on the dimensions of the latter, you may need to opt for custom furniture.
By installing wall shelves, you can also make your radiator the base for shelves, a bookcase or a bench.
The only requirements: clear a sufficient opening to allow good heat distribution and maintain easy access to purge your appliances.
Hide them behind a facade
If you want to completely hide your radiators, bet on a total or partial formwork, which will generally have to be made to measure.
Attention, here again, it is necessary to opt for an openwork formwork (blades, caning, grooving) in order to let the heat spread correctly.
Other methods that are easier to set up and less expensive consist in hiding these devices behind a grille, wooden cleats, a trellis, a magnetic plating or an aptly named radiator cover.
