China News Agency, Beijing, January 13 (Reporter Pang Wuji) The Ministry of Natural Resources of China released on the 13th the national geological disasters in 2021 and the forecast of geological disasters in 2022, showing that in 2021, a total of 4,772 geological disasters will occur in China, which is higher than the previous year. A decrease of 39.1%, geological disasters caused 80 deaths and 11 missing, a decrease of 34.5% over the previous year.

In terms of disaster types, 2,335 landslides, 1,746 collapses, 374 debris flows, 285 ground subsidences, 21 ground fissures, and 11 ground subsidences occurred last year, resulting in a direct economic loss of 3.2 billion yuan (RMB, the same below).

Judging from the disaster level, there were 35 extra-large geological disasters and 27 large-scale geological disasters.

Compared with the average of the same period in the previous five years, the number of geological disasters and the number of deaths and missing persons in China in 2021 will decrease by 30.3% and 63.2% respectively, and the direct economic losses will remain the same.

In 2021, a total of 905 geological disasters have been successfully predicted nationwide, involving 25,528 possible casualties and avoiding direct economic losses of 1.35 billion yuan.

According to the occurrence law of geological disasters for many years, combined with the analysis of relevant meteorological data, the Ministry of Natural Resources predicts that the overall trend of geological disasters in China in 2022 will be close to normal or slightly lower.

Specifically, it is predicted that geological disasters will be low in January-February, Shanxi in North China, Hubei, Hunan, and Guangxi in Central and South China, Chongqing and Guizhou in Southwest China, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and other provinces in Northwest China ( The possibility of geological disasters occurring in some areas of districts and cities is relatively high.

From March to May, the occurrence of geological disasters is relatively low. Shanxi in North China, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi in East China, Hubei, Hunan, and Guangxi in Central and South China, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet in Southwest China, and Shaanxi in Northwest China. , Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang and other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) are more likely to have geological disasters.

In summer, the occurrence of geological disasters is high, and there may be more geological disasters than normal in southern North China, southern Northeast China, southern central and southern China, western Southwest China, western Northwest China, and southeastern China.

The occurrence of geological disasters in autumn and winter is low, and attention should be paid to preventing geological disasters caused by human engineering activities in mountainous areas and rainfall in the southwest.
