The CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, confirmed that the current passenger movement to and from the Emirate of Dubai through its international airport, with the exception of transit passengers, has exceeded the levels recorded in the pre-Covid-19 pandemic.

Griffiths told CNN that "Dubai Airports" has maintained a state of full readiness to be able to return when traffic begins to recover, noting that Dubai International Airport recorded a growth of 40% over six weeks, before the peak of the holiday. birth directly.

He added, "As soon as passenger traffic reaches its maximum capacity at Dubai International Airport, we will reopen (Dubai World Central Airport) again to passenger traffic, and we will continue to grow in the air transport sector."

Griffiths stressed the attractiveness of the air transport sector in Dubai, and the advantages it provides, noting that compared to other airports in the world, we have some of the most modern passenger buildings.

He explained that the Concourse A building was opened in 2013, while Terminal 3, which has an area of ​​more than one million square meters, was opened in 2008, so it is still relatively new, at a time when we are constantly working on modernization and renovation at the airport facilities.

It is noteworthy that the total number of passengers who used Dubai International Airport during November 2021, amounted to about three million and 879 thousand and 375 passengers, a growth rate of 13.36%, compared to the previous October.

According to the latest data, Dubai International Airport registered more than 24.6 million passengers during the period between January and November 2021.
