Dubai Maritime Administration adopts new procedures for inspecting visiting foreign yachts
The Dubai Maritime City Authority has adopted new measures to facilitate the procedures required of the authority's dealers regarding the inspection of foreign yachts visiting the Emirate of Dubai in support of the "Dubai Winter Destination Yachting" initiative.
The Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, confirmed that the decision comes in line with the authority's orientation towards strengthening the distinguished position of the Emirate of Dubai as a leading global destination in the marine sector and in the framework of supporting the "Dubai as a winter destination for yachts" initiative. Coordination with Dubai Customs in implementing inspection procedures on visiting foreign yachts by Dubai Customs inspectors upon their arrival at the marina.
The Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority explained that this trend comes within the authority's efforts to provide an integrated portfolio of services related to the activities of marine vessels of all kinds, quickly and easily, with the aim of encouraging the attraction of more foreign yachts to the emirate.
He stated that inspection procedures for visiting foreign yachts are carried out around the clock after notifying the authority of the arrival date of the visiting yacht.. He stressed that the inspection process is a pivotal and essential stage to ensure the management of marine operational operations in accordance with the highest standards of occupational safety and best local and international practices, in order to serve the objectives represented in Improving the performance, safety, efficiency and competitiveness of the maritime sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
