The price of Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, once fell below $40,000.



Bitcoin fell to $39,558, the lowest since August 5 last year, Reuters reported.



It is the first time in five months since August of last year that $40,000 per coin collapsed.



According to Coinmetrics, Bitcoin recorded $48,73.44 at 10:10 a.m. EST on the 10th, and recovered to the $40,000 level again.



Ethereum as well as Bitcoin fell to $2,940, down more than 7% on the same day, and then recovered to $3,000.
