The Hangzhou-Taiwan high-speed railway is located in the low-mountain and hilly areas of the central and eastern Zhejiang Province, and its construction is difficult.

Since the start of construction at the end of 2017, all participating units have adhered to standardized construction, organized scientific and technological innovation to tackle key problems, advanced the project construction in a scientific and orderly manner, and erected a number of key points such as the Jiaojiang Bridge, a double-main truss steel truss cable-stayed bridge on a four-line high-speed railway. The bridge connects a number of long tunnels such as the 18.2-kilometer Dongming Tunnel, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule.

There are 87 newly built bridges with a total length of 102 kilometers and 56 tunnels with a total length of 100 kilometers. The total length of bridges and tunnels accounts for 89% of the total length of the line.

Before the project was put into operation, China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. strictly enforced various regulations and standards, and carried out joint debugging, inspection and acceptance and safety assessment of various professional equipment. It has carried out comprehensive optimization and adjustment to meet the requirements for safe and stable operation of high-speed railways, and has the conditions for opening and operating.
