Self-employed people protesting the government's decision to extend the distance held a light-up demonstration last night (6th). The idea is to show protests by lighting the store lights even after 9 pm, when the business must be closed, and it will continue until next Friday, when the extension of the distance is decided.

food alley in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul, should be closed at 9pm according to the government quarantine guidelines, but some businesses have brightly lit signboards and interior lights until midnight.



They protested in such a way that they did not turn off all the signboards and store lights at the time when the doors should be closed.



Shops belonging to the National Self-Employed Emergency Response Committee, where hop houses and PC rooms participate, announced that they will continue the self-illumination protest until the 14th.

Also, on the 10th and 12th, protests against the government are scheduled to be held in Yeouido. It seems to be pressing for the end of social distancing.



In the midst of this backlash, under-the-hood negotiations between the government and the self-employed are underway.



It is known that they are negotiating over the retroactive application of loss compensation and the expansion of payment targets.



Also, at the private level, the Federation of Small Businesses is promoting measures to support the self-employed together with the Community Chest of Korea for social welfare.
