The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced the start of the construction of the “Kuta” ski park for professionals in Sharjah, at Al Heera Beach, the largest beach project within its tourism and entertainment portfolio, and revealed that construction and equipment operations are scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of this year, coinciding with the opening of Al-Hira Beach.

The park project comes within the framework of a partnership between Shurooq and the world skater Dakota Schwitz, known as “Kota” and winner of the World Scooter Association Championship four times, as he participates for the first time in the UAE, his professional and inspiring design for the ideal skate park for professionals that receives skaters From all age groups, and from various professional levels, starting with amateurs and those wishing to learn.

The park, which bears the name "Kuta Skate Park", includes different tracks for all levels of skateboarding, including skateboards, skate shoes, scooters, and BMX bicycles, and includes a children's track that surrounds the skate park from the outside, and takes into account the highest standards. Safety and security.

Regarding the announcement of the new destination, Director of Operations Department of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Khaled Ibrahim Al Qaseer, said: “Through (Kota Skate Park), (Shurooq) offers a new qualitative option, in addition to the many and varied options that Sharjah provides to its residents, visitors and tourists. Thus, the new park integrates with the cultural, heritage, environmental and investment destinations, which have made Sharjah one of the most attractive destinations in the region.”

Al-Qusair added: “The new park embodies Shurooq’s permanent orientation towards creating tourist and social destinations that present innovative ideas in cooperation with distinguished international experts. Towards practicing various activities that are popular with all groups of different ages, especially in light of the extension of the weekend, which will raise the demand for hospitality, entertainment and retail destinations.”

For his part, Dakota Schweitz said: "I am pleased to cooperate with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) on the Kuta Skate Park project in Al Heera Beach in Sharjah, which will enable visitors to practice their activities and hobbies in an environment that respects the highest safety standards."
