During 2021, the Department of Economic Development in Ajman continued its efforts to support the industrial sector, attract investments, and promote industrial products, in addition to encouraging owners of medium and small projects, and opening new horizons for entrepreneurship.

The growth rate of the number of economic licenses issued by the department during the past year reached 41%, while the number of establishments reached 27.91 thousand, and the business resilience index reached 17%.

The efforts and initiatives launched by the department during the past year resulted in a 238 percent increase in the growth of the "Tadzeez" program.

The Director General of the Department of Economic Development in Ajman, Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, said that "the department has made unremitting efforts during the past year to develop the economic and industrial sectors, to advance the wheel of comprehensive development, through many initiatives," noting that the department's efforts in developing digital services and achieving a proportion of The customer satisfaction index with the services provided through the website reached 88%, while the digital transformation rate for all services reached 100%, which contributed to saving time and effort for investors and providing distinguished services.

He added that "Ajman's economy has intensified its efforts to support the industrial sector," noting that the number of factories in the emirate reached 1047 factories at the end of last year, with the industrial sector accounting for 20% of the emirate's gross domestic product.

He stressed that the department has provided many initiatives that support exporters in the emirate, including logistic passport services that benefited 105 beneficiaries, and a cooperation agreement was concluded with the Abu Dhabi Export Gate to support exports, as the number of beneficiaries reached 16, in addition to the fact that the department signed 54 agreements during In 2021, with many government and private agencies, while the partner’s satisfaction rate reached 85%, the department’s satisfaction rate with partners was 81%, and the partnership effectiveness rate was 98%, which led to an increase in the total transactions resulting from partnerships to 174,671 transactions.

Al-Hamrani explained that «the department has spared no effort in providing full support to investors and owners of small and medium enterprises, through several initiatives, including events and exhibitions.

He pointed out that the department contributed to the employment of job seekers at a rate of 8.5%, through the "Tadzeez" program, which implemented during the past year 144 feasibility studies for various projects.
