The Israeli air force raid targeted Hamas positions and also a rocket manufacturing site.

For the first time ever, Israeli helicopters came under fire from Sam-7, portable surface-to-air missiles also known as Strela-2.

The devices missed their targets, an Israeli military source said.

The Israeli airstrike follows the firing of two rockets launched yesterday morning, Saturday, from the Palestinian enclave.

They fell at sea off the coast of Tel Aviv.

January 1 is the anniversary of the creation of

Fatah, it is

recalled to explain this double fire attributed to Islamic Jihad.

Hamas for its part claims that the two projectiles were accidentally activated due to bad weather.

Another explanation is that it is a warning linked to the 137-day hunger strike by Palestinian activist

Hisham Abu Hawash

who is being held in Israel.

So many arguments rejected en bloc by Israel.

Those who point rockets at Israel must take full responsibility, proclaims Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
