Even if the travel ban only concerns unvaccinated citizens (and not foreign residents who represent the majority of the population), the authorities have increased the measures at different levels in recent days.

At the federal level, for example, government employees who have not been vaccinated against the virus will no longer be able to access their workplace as of January 3.

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has for its part tightened the conditions of access to its territory as well as the gauges during indoor and outdoor events.

Schools in Abu Dhabi will also teach at a distance for two weeks.

In the Emirates, more than 2,000 new positive cases for Covid-19 have been recorded daily for a few days.

A bar that had not been crossed for six months in this country where the official vaccination rate is the highest in the world.

Indeed, 92% of the population has received two doses of the vaccine since the launch of the campaign in December 2020.
