The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service announced that it will intensively crack down on the country of origin labeling of gifts and ritual goods from the 3rd to the 28th, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

We intensively crack down on sales of traditional foods, health functional foods, and regional specialties, which are in high demand during the Lunar New Year holidays, by deceiving the country of origin.

In particular, we plan to focus on violating the country of origin of pork, which is in high demand on New Year's Day, as well as for sacrificial products such as dried persimmons and jujubes.

Strict action will be taken against companies caught in violation of the Act on the Indication of Origin, etc. of Agricultural and Fisheries Products.

Under the current law, a company that falsely indicates the country of origin is punished by imprisonment for not more than 7 years or a fine of not more than 100 million won after criminal prosecution, and a fine of not more than 10 million won for negligence.
