China News Service, Guangzhou, December 31 (Cai Minjie Yue Road Construction) On December 31, the Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group held a mobilization activity for the construction of the Lion Ocean Passage Project in Nansha, Guangzhou.

As the economic volume of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area continues to expand, transportation is playing an increasingly important role in urban connectivity, investment and trade, and personnel mobility.

The Lion Ocean Passage Project is located between Nansha Bridge and Humen Bridge, starting from Dagang Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, and finally Humen Town, Dongguan City. Connect to the Chang (Ping) Hu (Men) Expressway.

The total length of the project is about 35 kilometers, two-way eight lanes, the cross-river section adopts a double-layer bridge scheme, the length is about 15 kilometers, and the construction period is 6 years.

The Lion Ocean Passage project connects Guangzhou and Dongguan. With developed commerce and trade, there are many manufacturing enterprises, and there is a huge demand for transportation and logistics.

The construction of the project will further open up the channels for external exchanges between the two places and connect more resources.

According to forecasts, the above-mentioned projects will have a significant effect on the traffic flow across the Pearl River Estuary in the future. After completion, they can effectively reduce the traffic pressure on the Humen Bridge and Nansha Bridge. The commuting distance between major cities in the Greater Bay Area will be shortened to less than one hour.

In addition, because the project is located at the mouth of the Pearl River, it is restricted by natural conditions such as typhoons, complex geology, navigation, flood control, environmental protection, safety, planning, and other control factors. The construction conditions are extremely complex and the project is extremely difficult.

In order to implement the concept of low-carbon environmental protection, during the construction of the project, measures such as low-noise roads, sound barriers, and underpass tunnels will be adopted to reduce the noise impact by optimizing the form of intercommunication.

According to reports, as the new river-crossing channel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Shiziyang Channel is the first double-deck channel across the Pearl River Estuary. After completion, it will become a double-deck suspension bridge with a large span in the world.

The Shiziyang Bridge, as the controlling project of the project, adopts the 2180-meter double-layer steel truss suspension bridge with a main span of 2180 meters. "Tower height, anchorage foundation, and main cable scale" are No. 1 in the world.

Zhang Taike, deputy general manager and chief engineer of Guangdong Bay Area Transportation Investment and Construction Co., Ltd., said: “At present, there are no standards or precedents for the construction of double-layer suspension bridges that exceed the scale of 2,000 meters at home and abroad. The construction of Shiziyang Bridge will lead The construction of two thousand-meter-class suspension bridges promotes the technological progress of my country's high-end bridge manufacturing industry chain."

The Lion Ocean Channel is another Pearl River estuary cross-river channel that Guangdong Province is pushing for planning and construction. It is an important part of the horizontally connecting the three major metropolitan areas of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the east-west trunk channel radiating the east and west wings, and the national coastal channel. Improving the road network structure on the east and west sides of the Pearl River, alleviating the traffic pressure on the Pearl River estuary, and promoting the interconnection of infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will play an important role.

At present, the Pearl River Estuary has successively completed the Humen Bridge, Huangpu Bridge, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Nansha Bridge and other river-crossing passages, and the Shenzhen-Zhuhai passage is in full swing.
