The government had promised 100,000 charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of the year in the territory.

An objective which has probably not been reached even if the dynamics are launched.

Major investments have in fact been made on the highways and will continue.

Still rare a few years ago, electric cars are now omnipresent in the catalogs of car dealers.

New models are also expected in 2022, but the electric does not yet inspire enough confidence in the French for long journeys in particular.

The government had therefore promised 100,000 charging stations by the end of the year, but the account is not there.

Even if a dynamic is still launched.

"Modernize charging points"

The bar of 50,000 charging points will indeed have been crossed this year, including around 20,000 new ones.

Never seen.

But we will have to keep pace to maintain this current ratio of 9 electric cars for a terminal in France.

And it will especially be necessary to invest to modernize certain existing terminals, explains Cécile Goubet, general delegate of Avere France, an association for the development of electric mobility.

"It is very important to modernize these charging points because they work. However, it does not correspond to what one can expect as a user in terms of quality of service. Then, it is absolutely necessary to continue the efforts in terms of equipment for condominiums, in terms of equipment for businesses and also on roads, "she explains.

Major investments have been made on the highways and will continue.

In total, Energy has for example planned € 200 million to equip 110 high-power terminals by the end of 2022 in France.

And the Ionity network, of which several major manufacturers are shareholders, plans to 7,000 terminals by 2025 in Europe thanks to a new financial contribution of 700 million euros.
