In the fight against the increasing number of corona cases, the French government wants to take penalties against companies that do not allow home office despite being obliged to.

Up to 50,000 euros fines should be possible, said Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne on Thursday on the LCI station.

Companies should be able to face a fine of up to 1000 euros per employee.

The government wants to introduce a corresponding regulation in a legislative proposal.

From next week, home office is mandatory in France.

Companies that can work from home must then enable their employees to work from home three days a week.

The government even recommends this for four days.

The regulation initially applies for three weeks.

New infections have skyrocketed in France in the past few days.

The authorities recently recorded more than 200,000 infections within one day.

The incidence value, i.e. the number of infections per week per 100,000 people, was most recently just under 800 nationwide.
