The Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway leads from Anqing West Station, passing through Huaining County, Qianshan City, Taihu County, Susong County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, Huangmei County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and finally to Lushan Station, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. The total length of the line is 176. Kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the whole line has 7 stations in Anqing West, Qianshan, Taihunan, Susongdong, Huangmeidong, Huangmeinan, and Lushan, of which Lushan Station is an existing station.

The Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail crosses the Yangtze River, with undulating hills and dense rivers along the line, making construction difficult.

Since the start of construction in December 2017, the railway department has organized participating units to strengthen construction organization, improve process methods, and promote project construction in a safe, high-quality, and efficient manner, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule.

There are 36 newly built bridges and 5 tunnels across the line, with a total length of 149 kilometers, accounting for 87% of the total length of the line.

Before the project opened, the railway department strictly organized various regulations and standards, and carefully organized the joint commissioning and joint test, inspection and acceptance and safety assessment of professional equipment on the Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail. All adjustments have been made to meet the requirements for safe and stable operation of high-speed railways and meet the conditions for opening and operation.

The design unit, China Railway No. 5 Institute, has made many design innovations in bridge detail design, full-section tunnel excavation, and special foundation treatment.

On the first day of the opening of the Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail, the railway department arranged for the operation of 5 pairs of mobile trains. In the early stage of operation, it was planned to operate 8 pairs of mobile trains, with an initial operating speed of 300 kilometers per hour.

When the national railway operation chart is adjusted on January 10, 2022, there will be 24 pairs of trains operating in a single day. By then, the railway travel time between Hefei and Nanchang will be reduced to 2 hours and 22 minutes.

The Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway is an important part of the Beijing-Hong Kong (Taiwan) passage of my country’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway network. The Changjiu Intercity Railway, the Nanchang-Ganzhou section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail, and the Ganzhou-Shenzhen section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail that has just opened operation have realized the direct connection of the high-speed rail from Hefei to Nanchang, and the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network Beijing-Hong Kong (Taiwan) channels The Shangqiu-Shenzhen section has been fully connected.

The Anjiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway is located in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and is connected to the Wanjiang Economic Belt and the Poyang Lake Economic Circle. The towns and populations along the route are densely populated, and many tourist resources such as Mount Lushan and Tianzhu Mountain are distributed.

After the completion of this high-speed rail, it will shorten the time and space distance between the provinces and cities in central my country, greatly facilitate the travel of the people along the line, and is of great significance to promote regional economic and social development and help the implementation of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
