Among them, the export trade volume was 197.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%; the import trade volume was 63.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.6%.

  Affected by the epidemic, global trade has shrunk, but Xinjiang’s trade with the EU has shown rapid growth.

According to Sun Tao, deputy director of the Urumqi Customs Statistics and Analysis Department, there are three main reasons: China-Europe trains have boosted the growth of Xinjiang port trade with the EU; mechanical and electrical products have become the main force driving import and export growth; clean energy-related equipment and product exports have begun to take off.

  According to statistics from the Xinjiang Railway Department, in the first November, 11,156 China-Europe freight trains in and out of the Xinjiang ports opened, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%; freight volume was 1.073 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 30.2%, driving the Xinjiang ports to Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, France, The import and export trade volume of Hungary and other countries has increased significantly.

  In the first 11 months, Xinjiang ports exported 158.04 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products to the EU, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%, accounting for 79.9% of the total exports of Xinjiang ports to the EU during the same period; Xinjiang ports’ imports of mechanical and electrical products from the EU increased by 29.2%, accounting for Xinjiang ports’ imports from the EU during the same period 65.5% of the total.

  "The export of primary forms of plastics, electric passenger cars, and polysilicon has doubled." Sun Tao said that among the labor-intensive products exported to the EU at the Xinjiang port, plastic products, footwear, furniture and other products have increased significantly.

  In the first November, exports of wind turbines from Xinjiang Port to the EU increased by 219.2% year-on-year; solar cells increased by 28.1% year-on-year; lithium-ion batteries increased by 31.3% year-on-year.
