Mainly have the following characteristics:

  First, urban and rural consumption rebounded simultaneously.

From January to November, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban and rural areas were 34.6 trillion yuan and 5.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.8% and 13.3% year-on-year respectively.

  The second is the steady growth of basic living consumption.

From January to November, the retail sales of grain, oil, food and beverages of units above designated size increased by 10.7% and 21.2% year-on-year respectively.

Among the online retail sales of physical goods, the sales of food products increased by 18.8% year-on-year.

  The third is the rapid growth in sales of upgraded products.

From January to November, the retail sales of gold, silver, jewellery, cultural and office supplies, and communication equipment of units above designated size increased by 34.1%, 20.2%, and 16.3% year-on-year, and the retail sales of building materials and furniture increased by 22.2% and 16.9% year-on-year.

  The fourth is the rapid development of new types of consumption.

From January to November, online retail sales of physical goods reached 9.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.2% year-on-year, accounting for 24.5% of total retail sales; sales of new energy vehicles were 2.99 million, an increase of 1.7 times year-on-year, accounting for 12.7% of total automobile sales.

  In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will, in accordance with the deployment of the Central Economic Work Conference, adhere to the principle of stability and advancement, while increasing urban consumption, it will accelerate the improvement of the county-level commercial system, further promote rural consumption, cultivate consumption hotspots, and promote continuous and stable recovery of consumption.
