According to him, the Russian government hopes that in the middle of next year the first gas supplies will begin via the pipeline.

He said this in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24".

He added that the certification process for the project could be completed in mid-2022.

On November 16, it became known that the German regulator suspended the certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent operator of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

Subsequently, Nord Stream 2 AG, the operator of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, decided to establish a subsidiary in Germany in order to meet the country's requirements for certification of the German section of the pipeline.
