This means that Shipu, an important town in Xiangshan, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, will completely end the history of no expressway. From then on, Shipu connects to the coast of Taizhou and Wenzhou in the south, and connects to Ningbo in the north. The journey from Ningbo city to Shipu has been shortened from the past 2 hours to 1 hour.
Shipu Expressway is an important part of the "Nine Vertical, Nine Horizontal, Five Rings, Five Channels and Multiple Connections" in Zhejiang Province's expressway network, and one of the "Five Directions" in Ningbo's "One Ring, Five Directions, Six Connections and Six Ports" Expressway Network.

The Shipu high-speed link project started construction at Huanggong'ao, Xinqiao on December 25, 2017.
The construction period of the project is 4 years, and the total project estimate is 4.173 billion yuan.
The starting point of the project is connected with the interchange (Huangji'ao) of the Sanmenwan Bridge and the new bridge hub of the connection project, passing through Dingtang and Xiaotang, and finally on the east side of Baimentou, Shipu Town, and setting up Shipu Interchange and the southern coastal line catch.
The project adopts the two-way four-lane highway standard, with a design speed of 100 km/h, a roadbed width of 26 meters, and a bridge width of 25 meters.
There are 3 interchanges across the line, and 3 ramp toll stations include Xinqiao Interchange, Dingtang Interchange, and Shipu Interchange.
It is reported that the Shipu Expressway will be opened to traffic at 0:00 on December 24. It will connect the already built Sanmenwan Bridge and the Xiangshan Port Bridge, realizing the entire line connecting Shipu to Wenzhou in the south and Ningbo to the north.
The Shipu Expressway project was completed and opened to traffic, which will improve the expressway network in Xiangshan County, improve the transportation conditions of Shipu port area, unblock the connections between the southern areas such as Shipu satellite towns and the outside, and promote the construction of the marine economic development demonstration zone in Zhejiang Province and the development of the Sanmen Bay area. It is of great significance.
