World Economic Forum in Davos postponed due to Omicron

The annual conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which was scheduled to take place from January 17-21, 2022, has been postponed.

The institution responsible for organizing the forum announced today, Monday, at its headquarters in Cologne, near Geneva, that it took this decision due to the spread of the new Corona mutant, “Omicron”, adding that it would be very difficult to hold an international conference in light of the necessary Corona measures and travel restrictions due to the pandemic.

Forum founder Klaus Schwab said that the Foundation will organize the forum in the presence of leading figures virtually, and added: "The cooperation between the public and private sectors has developed during the pandemic and will continue in this way. We look forward to gathering the world's leading figures face to face soon."
